Digital Citizenship
Over the past 3 weeks Room 22 have been learning how to be great Digital Citizens, building on what they already knew. Mrs Taylor, our school ICT Lead teacher has been working with every class in the school to help everyone to be safe and make good choices when online.

The Alternative New Zealand Flag Designs
Zoe shared the 40 designs for the alternative New Zealand flag with the class. She told us who can vote, when the referendum will be and showed us the website with the designs.

Making Poi
Room 22 made poi today as part of Maori Language Week and will use them to do a short kapahaka for their assembly this Friday.
We will post some photos of the finished poi and even a video of their dance.

To celebrate Maori Language Week Room 22 have been busy learning songs, phrases related to kai (food), making poi, learning a poi dance (kapahaka) and writing play scripts in te reo.

Year 3 Cricket World Cup Final
On Monday 16th March the Year 3 Cricket World Cup Finals were held at school. The students and teachers had a wonderful afternoon! Luckily Cyclone Pam didn't cause any problems, the sun was shining for the matches.

Cricket World Cup Fever
The Cricket World Cup is Here......At Meadowbank School!!
The 2015 Year 3 Meadowbank Cricket World Cup gets started this week on Monday 8 February!! This is just a few short days before The Black Caps take on Sri Lanka in Christchurch on Saturday 14 February.Each a Year 3 class has been divided into girls and boys to play a tournament, and each team drew a country playing in the ICC World Cup to represent.Over the next 5 weeks the teams will play a 'Fast Cricket' version of the game putting into the place the skills they are learning in class P.E sessions. The Year 3s have been brushing up on their fielding, batting and catching skills in preparation.
